Dear (5-Minute Mac):
At 10:00 this morning, twelve
teenagers sat down in front of twelve different Macs and
worked, without a single problem, for the next ninety
minutes. It was the first time in two years that I was
able to spend my time TEACHING, rather than trying to fix
broken machines. It was also the first time in two years
that I've been able to teach all of my students the same
subject at once, because this is the first time that all
of the machines have been working correctly. You've made
quite a difference here. Thank you!
Dear (5-Minute Mac):
I can't tell you what a pleasure
it is to have my Performa working again. Each morning I
grab a cup of coffee, throw a CD into the machine (I
never knew my Mac could play music), and spend a few
quiet minutes reading my email and checking my stocks.
This could become a habit!
Dear (5-Minute Mac):
I wanted to let you know how
much we appreciate all the extra time you spent solving
our modem problem. Who knew a bad phone line could cause
so much damage? It's good to be back in business again.
Please give me a call when you have a few minutes so we
can get started on those two new machines as soon as
possible.
Dear (5-Minute Mac):
... (User) and (User) told me
they always felt like outcasts because they weren't using
Windows and attached to the network like the rest of us.
Now there's no problem. They're able to communicate with
everyone else, share files, print to all the network
printers, and I'm backing up their Macs to the NT Server
each night without a hitch...
Dear (5-Minute Mac):
Yesterday I received our
department's profit profile for the past quarter, which
appears to illustrate the results of the work you did for
us in July. I thought you might find it
interesting.
In the previous quarter
(April-June), our department wasted 171 hours of
non-billable time on "computer repairs." (78 hours were
mine. The rest were used by artists waiting for me or
attempting their own repairs.)
For this quarter (July-Sept.),
the total amount of time spent on problems with any of
the six machines was only - can you believe this - 13
hours!
By my estimates, if we continue
to save that much every quarter, our department will have
more than 600 "bonus" hours to sell each year. Even if we
manage to sell only half of them, we could be earning an
additional $30,000 each year. Not too shabby!
